MANAGEMENT TEAM PROFILES

Our management team brings together a wide range of complementary skills, knowledge and experience coupled with a hands-on approach to customer care and personal service. James, Matt, Jason and Martin welcome all new enquiries and are happy to discuss any future and potential projects.

James Kirk - Commercial Director

James has over 12 years expereince in the distribution, forging and engineering sector, specialising mainly in Oil and Gas, Aerospace and Power Generation, with a particular emphasis on Nickel Alloy and Stainless Steel supply.
 
Utilising this extensive experience and the knowledge gained his focus on customer service and building long term customer relationships is fundamental to the Barrett Nickel Alloy strategy of continued growth and global development.

Matt Kelly - Operations Manager

Matt has 15 years experience in the steel stockholding industry.  His background predominantly covers the Aerospace & Power Generation sectors. 

He has managed multi purpose production, stockholding and distribution facilities which includes Band Saw cutting, CNC Machining and Waterjet Cutting Operations to name a few.

He is particuarly focused on delivery performance and will strive to achieve deliveries to the customers "on time every time". 

Matt has also worked within Quality Departments where his responsibilities included stock control, calibration, inspection and certification.


Jason Miller - Technical Manager

As a fully qualified and highly experienced metallurgist, Jason is more than happy to share his detailed knowledge of nickel-based alloy forging techniques and processing characteristics with our customers.

Jason has spent most of his career working in the non-ferrous materials processing industry, including primary processing (forging/heat treatment) of materials for the aerospace, power generation and oil and gas industries. 

Martin Johnstone - Global Sales Manager

With over 12 years commercial experience within the Oil and Gas Industry.  Martin has an excellent understanding of solution driven customer requirements within this challenging envirnoment.

With the emphasis on strategic long term relationships, his background of working closely with global companies and a hands on approach to finding cost effective, customer friendly solutions is driven by a complete understanding of what is required in this competitve market.

His experience to date demonstrates a strong working knowledge of supplying into global export markets, including South East Asia, Middle East, North America, and Europe, and covers the full range of "Oil Patch" material grades associated with Wellhead, Subsea and Downhole sectors of the industry.
