Low Alloy steel grades 4130, 4140, 4145 and 1/4 Cr – 1Mo F22 type

These are strengthened by the addition of chromium and molybdenum in various amounts. This provides increased toughness and hardening capability.

These materials are susceptible to sulphide stress corrosion cracking in sour gas environments and their hardness is therefore limited to 22HRC by NACE MRO175/ISO15156.

• Casing hangers
